Use FreezingCam with Microsoft Teams (macOS)

published on 30 March 2021

Since the last Microsoft Teams update Microsoft made it a little bit harder to use an application that interract with your webcam.

Here are the one time installation steps required to make FreezingCam work on your computer:

  1. Make sure FreezingCam is installed and the license is activated
  2. Close every instance of Microsoft Teams, and make sure it's not running in the background.
  3. Open the Terminal, run the following commands one by one:
  4. Theses commands might take a bit of time but are very important : *xcode-select --installsudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app"sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper.app"sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (GPU).app"sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Plugin).app"sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Renderer).app"
  5. Once theses command finished running, you can start Microsoft Teams.
  6. Go in the settings and select the right webcam

* If Microsoft Teams is saved somewhere else make adjust the path accordingly.

Here you go! FreezingCam should be working perfectly, as of other application interracting with your webcam.
