An App That Can Freeze Your Webcam is Coming to Your Screen on January 25th
LONDON, January 8th, 2021 – Born out of the need to turn his camera on and off for odd tasks, Kevin Picchi decided to make an app for that. FreezingCam is an application that can freeze one’s camera frame during work or school meetings and have it look like a connection error. The app is currently under beta testing and will release to the public on January 25th, 2021.
FreezingCam is the only webcam freezing software on the market. In addition to the webcam freezing feature, the app can stutter or play another video instead of the webcam. FreezingCam is connectable to teleconferencing applications such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, Whereby, Webex and more. The app will be available on macOS devices.
“The idea came from a discussion with a bunch of friends who were complaining about the hassles of having to turn on their cameras during meetings,” says Picchi. “We were joking, but a few days after that, the first prototype of FreezingCam was born,” he added.
Kevin Picchi is a software engineer from Switzerland who currently works for a tech giant in London, UK. An email announcing the launch will be sent to those who register on the website. Registration for the app is open at https://freezingcam.com/pricing.
