FreezingCam for Windows
Where things stand
FreezingCam runs on macOS only right now. A Windows version is in development, with no release date we are willing to promise. Leave your email and you will hear the moment there is something to install.
One email when it ships. No pre-order, no payment, no newsletter.
How to freeze your camera on Windows today
You do not have to wait for us. OBS Studio is free, open source, and does the same job with more steps.
- 1Install OBS Studio and add your webcam as a Video Capture Device source.
- 2Add a still image of yourself as a second source, positioned underneath the webcam.
- 3Click Start Virtual Camera in the Controls panel.
- 4In Zoom, Teams or Discord, choose "OBS Virtual Camera" as your camera.
- 5Toggle the webcam source off to show the still image, and back on to go live again.
OBS has to stay open for the whole call and there is no one-click freeze, no video loop, and no bad-connection effect. But it is free and it works.
On a Mac already?
Then you do not need to wait for anything. Pick your app and it takes about a minute.
